they seem oblivious to the fact that Tanahashi couldve faced any of the three of Okada, Nakamura and Naito and the same thing wouldve happened to ticket sales. as long as he was facing one of his established great rivals it wouldve happened. exactly, they seem to not realise that ofc the retirement match of arguably the greatest to ever do it is going to sell a few more tickets when the actual match is announced. most of those fans who bought tickets when it was announced were probably worried he'd be facing some bullshit like Shota so were holding out until it was announced
