The heel turn is what ruined it. That should have happened like a decade ago. People like face-Cena now, so they should have just given that to everyone. Face-Cena wanting to retire as champion (without the dumb bringing it home part) would have been much more compelling.

I don't think AEW's roster would work well with him. They seem pretty territorial when forced to work with already established wrestlers who aren't part of an inner clique. That said, Tony would probably pay a hundred million for him.

i'm happy they at least tried a heel turn. it's absolutely true that he should have had a heel run during his prime years but i like that they at least gave it a shot. the idea would have worked, it's just that triple H is a retard and dwayne actively tried to tank the product. and travis scott, of course. but at least they took the risk and we saw what heel cena would look like.
