Njpw, it happened all the time on /asp/. The only reason it wasn't as bad as now is because the companies and talent barely acknowledge each other and AEW happens to be in a better time zone so it attracted more autist.

They actually knew how to use those guys Tony had to hire up. Tony wasn't able to poach them all because he's better at this than NJPW was, it was solely because he has unlimited funds at a time when they were in a tight position financially due to the pandemic.

If AEW hadn't been around, WWE would've improved its product before 2018 so that the need to create AEW wouldn't have existed in the first place. Probably the Janel Grant thing would be the detonator to create AEW.
