>[STARDOM] Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara conquer Goddess... Aiming to surpass their master, Tam Nakano's "legendary tag"
>Sakurara, the NEW BLOOD (NB) tag team champions Aya Sakura (29) and Sayaka Kurara (25), who won the women's professional wrestling "Stardom" tag league "Goddess of Stardom" for the first time, will surpass that legendary tag team.
>In the championship match on the 30th (Hamamatsu), they faced off against Natsuko Tora and Ruaka from the evil group "HATE" (Hate), who held the Goddess Championship. Sakurara struggled against their opponents' power and wicked killing techniques, but in the end, they showed great teamwork, with Kurara rolling up Tora and getting the three count. After the match, they once again announced their challenge for the Goddess Championship, declaring, "We will be the first ever double champions."
>Sakura debuted in March 2023, while Kurara debuted in December of the same year. Sakura joined the sport earlier, but was forced to take a long break due to a back injury just four months after her debut, returning in March of last year. During that time, Kurara and Sakura debuted together, and although they belonged to the same company, Cosmic Angels (CA), they continued to be aware of each other's company.
>Looking back on that time, Sakura revealed, "I was jealous that while I was on hiatus, Kurara was doing well and getting all the attention. So I had a strong desire to go first, and even though we were teamed up at the time, we didn't work well together."
>The first time the two shared the same goal was in June 2024, when they challenged the then NB Tag Champions, Hanan and Saya Iida. In preparation for the challenge, they had their practice watched by then leader Tam Nakano and other CA seniors, and gradually the two began to work well together. "Tam and the CA seniors gave us advice and helped us grow. I think we were able to repay them by winning the tag league," says Kurara.
