>>19383810As an old head let me tell you that there was also something special about finding tapes in the wild. I never had the interest in making pen pals from magazines but I specifically remember going to the Tri County Flea Market on Long Island for a Magic the Gathering tournament in 1998 and there was a guy with a booth that just sold bootleg copies of live music performances and international/rare copies of albums CDs. Anyway this guy had 3 tapes of Puerto Rican and Japanese wrestling and I bought them for 25 bucks each and wore them out in my VCR. I miss when things were like that, going to the comic book store with my grandma just to see if they happened to get more VHS bootlegs of dragon ball GT yet because I found 2 tapes there a year prior and had to keep checking in to try to finish. I didn't even see the beginning of it I got tapes like 9-12 and 12-15. It was real sweet discovering culture. Seeing a movie on TV 15 minutes after it started and loving it but not catching the title in the beginning and having no way to check what it was without the TV guide. Spending a year or two thinking about it before reading about it in a book or magazine or catching it on tv again.
