At the time when McMahon family stuff overtook the show, we were already literally a half decade removed from the Austin/Vince feud (which was the actually good stuff). By 2003 this shit had no juice left but it was more prevalent on the shows than ever. It'd be like if we were still watching Bloodline or Elite angles in 2025 (oh wait we are kek)
Sometimes I have to remind myself that the majority of fans now are people who grew up "WWE brand fans" but specifically not wrestling fans, like not even fans of the Attitude or Golden Era WWF which were awesome, and not genuine casual fans who come and go, but people who have been hardcore popping for the Miz and shit for like 20 years and get nostalgic over like Hornswoggle. Power to you if that's your thing, I'm not knocking it, but I dunno brother.
