The real indicator was among my family and friends, they all had their favorites, Orton, Punk, Taker, Ziggler, Kane etc but they all rooted for Bryan. Unlike other babyfaces booked in his position, he felt incredibly sincere. He also had the charisma to pull off being a serious heel, comedy guy or babyface. equally believable in all roles.
I'm going to go back and rewatch that 2012-2014 run. Probably the last time WWE was great.
