>>19451725I find he usually has an opinion already then forms an argument around it. He really thinks/wants AEW to be as successful as WWE so he would always post the ratings then a cope (there's a sports game, the weather is sunny in Canada, etc.). Them moving to Max is the greatest thing that's happened to him because he can just throw "not including Max numbers" anytime and since no one knows the exact numbers he can just hand wave any arguments.
Listen to the clip on youtube where he defends Tony's comments on "closing the gap" on WWE. He goes "um well technically they did close the gap because WWE lost viewers and AEW lost viewers but AEW lost viewers." Then he goes on to explain how WWE beats them on every metric and how WWE is so far ahead it's not even funny, completely invalidating his previous point. Meltzer's only a known wrestling journalist because he was one of the firsts and he was the only one with inside knowledge. The only reason he has subscribers now is because of the holdovers. They no longer are the people that break stories first nor do they provide any worthwhile analysis. They're just Tony's mouth piece at this point.
