Don't be too excited thinking Austin will set the world on fire immediately after his promo and RAW will start getting interesting. Between KOTR and IYH: Buried Alive, Austin was kinda sitting on his hands because Vince unironically didn't know what to do with him. Austin spent more time on Superstars than on RAW during that time.
It's only in October, when Bret returns and accepts Austin's challenge, when RAW gets more interesting. You also get the start of Shawn vs Sid around that time, which is also a fun feud. Survivor Series 1996 is to me the end of the pure New Generation era and the start of the transition from New Gen to Attitude.
