He probably thinks the boos he'll get will help launch an evil Mr. Levesque authority figure. If so, I doubt he's shrewd enough to walk the tightrope between kayfabe and reality. Mr. McMahon pulled it off with the Montreal Screwjob because the notion that the Earl Hebner was in his pocket made for a coherent kayfabe explanation of the result. HHH better not think he can pull of something similar after Cena clearly wasn't robbed. Although a Russo promo by HHH that accelerates the death of mainstream wrestling might be funny for a night.

funny thing is that when he made this promo part of the backlash was because they made cena champ (again). it also came at a time where the product was pretty shitty and many fans were vocally angry and hijacking shows (e.g. cm punk chants).

people were desperate for an alternative that was actually somewhat focused on wrestling.
