Most of their local talent didn't amount to anything. They mostly pushed names who were already visible for their work in TNA and ROH (and later on, Lucha Underground and NJPW) which you could actually watch on TV, or guys who were rising on the scene in Europe.
Even a children's comedy slop indie fed like Chikara that was less popular had its own unique product and was attached to a training school that produced a few relatively big names. PWG was just the indie greatest hits. Even their six-man spotfest tag match style was just taken from CMLL and AAA.
