The show was having nickelodeon tier segments by then. It really sucked. It took the Nexus angle to get some interest back in again for a very short little while.

Edgy names weren't cutting it anymore after the attitude era boom died so they realized that by themeing the PPVs it made people pay for them. Sadly it kind of cheapened the stakes. It wasn't "oh no this feud is so important it needs HIAC!. Now you just waited for the PPV and whatever feuds were happening would now have HIAC
