- If Okada wins the CC, then retires Naito, he'll look like the unbeatable conqueror on the path to a World Title reign. If Takeshita loses and also loses at WK, his story will be that Okada shook his confidence and he's on a downward spiral, possibly leading to a face turn.
- Okada loses CC, but retires Naito, then that lines up a rematch for the early spring and potential Okada-Take III match for Forbidden Door in June. And Okada would still have International title so it's not like he walks away empty handed.
Lots of scenarios. It's a really big opportunity for AEW to end the year strong and set up compelling TV for the next 10 weeks until the next PPV in mid-March, with only (so far) Grand Slam Australia at around the halfway point.
