Amazing stuff. Gunther shouldn't be taller more Austrian Miz. He should be a vicious fucker beating people up backstage, making them pass out, getting people to tap in the ring. All of that heat and momentum which should be behind him right now is squandered away.

the main issue was that cena was booked like a weakling most of his final run and the whole run was booked like shit.

if you had a super cena face champ for most of the run and then had him still as IC champ going into his match with gunther it would have been more impactful.

The real fault is that Cena was open to doing a whole year but WWE only went for 36 or so dates. They could have doubled it and given Cena far more and let him shine.

The thing here though is Gunther isn't an adaption, he's the long-term plan. At least with Austin you could explain it as he just randomly got over as fuck and they didn't know how to book that shit on the fly. This is literally Triple Nose's plan for Gunther
Retire Cena and just fester to diminishing reactions because the world title scene is pre-booked up to Mania and he has no other names to run through
