No real proof, just rumors. His contract with AEW is set to expire soon (if not already expired), he hasn't appeared on AEW in 8 months, and it's already been announced that AEW is not co-producing the wrestling matches on the 2026 Rock 'n' Wrestling Cruise like they have the past few years.

Cutting ties with AEW for the cruise is what made it seem obvious he's leaving, IMO. But who knows, the cruise isn't until November 2026, so hypothetically there's still time for him to re-sign with AEW and get them involved with the cruise again. As of right now all of the talent announced are ex-WWE talent or currently in TNA though.

I don't think WWE fans necessarily want Chris Jericho. They just recognize if he's retiring finally, he mostly likely wants to come back to WWE, do one last big WrestleMania match, and get put in the Hall of Fame. Even AEW fans don't WANT Jericho anymore. He's washed up.

No? People would go insane if Nic Nemeth or the Hardys came back to the WWE main roster too and they're in TNA. Jericho was a huge deal in WWE and so is Edge. Any return of a legend is huge. If Punk came back without his AEW run, the pop would have still been massive.

most AEW fans are happy he was gone, and wanted him to be gone when his act got stale. they will not just start hating him because he left, and never hated him to begin with, just grew tired of him.

I think those are two different groups. The smarks want him to stay, the casual fans want him back. I kind of always hate the moralfagging shit flinging that wrestling fans do because it's almost always performative. Whether it's the WWE smarks with the Jericho allegations or AEW fans pretending to care about the Vince allegations, it's entirely used to say "my company is better and morally superior to yours".
