>>19650365What you said doesn't counteract what they said. WCW was known for having a huge deep roster of young guys and vets with an eclectic show, and Goldberg's push came along and killed them all just to get him over. Now, if he wasn't a clumsy goofball who could actual wrestle a main event match without getting gassed after 10 minutes, and could cut a promo to sell the match and tickets, it could have been worth it. But no. Not only did he destroy everyone on the way to the top, he stole spots from legit up and comers who would have been way better for WCW and Nitro (Jericho, Raven, Benoit, all the people he drove off).
After Hogan gave him the biggest pop of his life, there was no where to go. He didn't build up the nWo storyline. He was a side character who got his huge moment. It was IMPOSSIBLE to build ANY major storyline for him after that moment because he couldn't talk, and when he did, he sounded retarded or cringe, and he couldnt carry or even BE carried in an actual wrestling match. His career is basically Warrior 2.0. One might even say a downgrade, because at least Warrior had some weird insane long ass promos. Goldberg had 3 lines he'd repeat over and over like Konnan. Who people got tired of even quicker.
All those resources and jobs invested in him for one damn moment, and everyone was sick of it. People cheered like crazy when Nash beat him (it's on fucking video, not debatable) because the nWo had build a huge following with lots of characters, matches and so on. Bill was paper thin. A streak gimmick that should only have been a jump off. Not his whole identity but turns out there was nothing else to offer. He ran stars off to WWE, injured Bret, Steiner and himself, all when they were needed in the main event after Lugar, Hogan and Sting took off. It was like one big avalanche.
