what was the point of that second reign?
and not only drop it, but drop it to the person that Chelsea beat for it, Giulia.

disclaimer, this is about what's going on with the Women's United States Championship Belt. that belt is too small fries for Charlotte, not so much for Alexa Bliss.

that Women's United States Championship Belt has to be the worst booked championship belt of all-time, entire championship lineage is bad.
not too long ago, the PW'ites were crying for women's midcard championship belts, and i was saying that for as many women as you think there are, there's not enough women's talent to carry the two midcard divisions.
it's their fault for wanting women's midcard belts when there ain't enough talent to make it go around and work.

there's no need for Carmelo Hayes to be doing these Open Challenge title defenses for his US Championship Belt.
the Open Challenge gimmick would work a lot better for Giulia to get her familiar with TV audiences.

but in this case, the reason why I said open challenges would help Giulia is because you get familiar with Giulia on TV and start to see more of her and what she can do in the ring and get to see more of her personality.

That way, you'll get familiar with her and you'll get used to seeing Giulia. and then once people start to feel like that, then you can move Giulia up the card and make her a midcarder of SD instead of the show opener, because by then people will have gotten used to Giulia and give her more better competition.

have somebody take the Women's US Belt from Giulia after 6-7 defenses, and that would give the next person the rub while freeing up a now hot Giulia to challenge for the world title.

that's how you build somebody new up. start low and build them high. it takes time, but i think the open challenge would really help Giulia, but you gotta book it to the point where Giulia is a beast in the ring instead of putting people to sleep.

But WWE over-do the open challenges like they're doing with Carmelo Hayes, Ilja Dragunov and Sami Zayn. Open Challenges are meant for unknown newcomers like Giulia to get people familiar with them on the main roster, not for already established talent like Melo, Sami, Dragunov etc.

open challenges cannot work as a heel gimmick, and even if she had good matches i don't think the audience would warm to her. giulia's matches are generally fine already. it wouldn't get her over enough for world title contention, and taking them away from melo when he's finally starting to get over would be moronic.
chelsea should win the world title. having her in the midcard is pointless because nobody will ever get over against her. put her at the top of the card.
