He protected his brand at all times, if he saw anything as being a potential threat, he'd work hard to bury it. When he saw an opportunity to curry favor with the office he'd do that. The problem is that when Hogan did a lot of these things, the business was mostly protected and you didn't hear about a lot of them. When you began to hear about the backstage goings on in shoot interviews, Hogan's reputation began to take a hit. The sex tape was a huge blow too but I think Starrcade 97, his TNA run, his match with Orton, and ratting on Ventura when he wanted to start a union were also contributing factors. Everything the man tried to do to protect his reputation ended up making him a pariah in the end. But was Hogan based? I'm not too sure, I think it's really reprehensible to cuck your best friend. I don't hate Hogan but he was kind of a mess.
