Basically at the time there were a few different types of joshi fans. There were the workrate smarks who wanted everything to be like AJW circa 1993, the dykes who liked watching dykes, the gooners who only liked the pretty wrestlers, and then the random people who ust liked it as its own thing. Leslie, along with guys like Kevin Wilson, were 100% in the gooner camp and you could tell because of who all their favorites were: Kana, Ayumi Kurihara, Manami Toyota, Stardom in general, etc.
As lulzy as he is, I think that ProWresBlog guy could probably tell you about the joshi fandom of the time because I think he was around it too. Although I think he might have been more a DVDVR guy and not a Joshifans guy.
Fun fact, and I hate to post a Reddit link but he's also literally responsible for r/SquaredCircle existing because he ran the main pro wrestling subreddit but was such an unbearable asshole and would ban people for arguing with him and shit that SquaredCircle was made to have a wrestling subreddit where people didn't have to deal with him.
