I haven’t touched a WWE game since 2k19, was about to preorder 2k20 in 2019 but I decided last minute not to cause I knew the game was going to be shit (I was right). Are any of the entries from 2k22-25 actually good? Have 2k & Visual Concepts gone out of their way and put out a good wrestling game?

the modern games are good, you're gonna have people on here who just inherently dislike them because they aren't hctp or svr07 but in terms of pure wrestling autism you can't really beat them with how good the caw system is and the massive roster

Community Creations are nice and the having a stacked roster is always a bonus but I feel like those are the only things 2k have done right since WWE 2k16, the in ring gameplay never matched up to the excitement I had with 2k14, SVR07 & SYM. I still think 2k16 is the best game in the WWE 2k series, with 2k19 being #2

The Community Creations & Extensive Creation Suites will always be cool and having a stacked roster is always a bonus to the playing experience but I feel like those are the only things 2k have done right since they’ve acquired the IP, the in ring gameplay never matched up to the excitement I had with 2k14, SVR07, All Stars & SYM. I still think 2k16 is the best game in the WWE 2k series, with 2k19 being #2

I think it's more just to bridge that 10 year gap brother. It's not that deep. Just something fun that might get some other people or versions of them not already in the game in there

I just find them super soulless for some reason. It's not even the copy and paste aspect. Grew up with enough of that in the SVR series year to year. There's just something about it that lacks excitement. I'm not even saying it needs to be cartoony or arcadish. I actually prefer the simulation style. 2K19 was great for example. But there's just no energy to them

It's because so many of his high profile matches involve people who are in AEW or are on bad terms with WWE.
>can't do almost all of his historic title reign because Jericho, Bryan, Big Show, Moxley are in AEW and they aren't touching Vince, Johnny Ace, Ryback, and Del Rio
>none of the MITB wins because Jericho, Shelton, Christian are in AEW
>can't touch the first MITB cash in because Edge is in AEW

Surely they must be able to have Jeff Hardy in there due to the TNA partnership, cause otherwise its gonna be a bit dire...

I get where you're coming from. In terms of the spirit of the showcase mode itself that does go against it. They've been treating that mode differently recently. Like that one year with Cena. Instead of it being historically accurate to Cena matches they just had you play as everyone else and beat Cena. Which admittedly is far more interesting to play through than a game mode of lolcenawins. I didn't touch the Bloodline one so I can't say much there. But this seems like more of that kind of thing. The mode went to shit regardless once they stopped motion capturing all of the cutscenes and just inserted lazy video clips instead

This isn't anything new. Half of the 2K25 Bloodline showcase was dream matches and "rewrite history" matches where the fat Samoan jobbers don't lose this time.

I read somewhere that the 2k25 Showcase was about The Anoai Family where they won title matches they actually lost irl, the mode had some “rewriting history” gimmick like why am I supposed to root for these privileged fucks? Look at The Usos talking like they’re ghetto apes despite the fact they grew up in a big house & wealthy family
