But yeah, as WWE watcher, Dave hater and AEW expat, I find Triple H's take to be stupid no matter if it's just aimed at specific type complaining never happy smark online or fans in general it's contradictory to how fans are formed. What he's talking about is being a consumer and brand loyal regardless of it there's anything to be a FAN of, i.e. cheering something on because you believe in it or think it's good, as a show.
Being a WWE fan isn't like being a sports team fan - fans stick to teams out of hometown pride shit and what not. Nobody says they are a NFL or a XFL fan. They are fans of a team in it if they are, not the organization.
We are fans of the wrestling show and root for the characters as stables, teams and solo athletes. This shouldn't be a hard concept to grasp.
I think I'm starting to see why that XFL business venture was such a money pit loss for everyone involved.
