During a recent Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp was asked whether AEW had plans for another console release following Fight Forever. While AEW does own the engine that powered the game, Sapp revealed there’s no current follow-up in development—and there are a few key reasons for that.
>“They have always held the engine rights. They own the engine of the game, but I have not heard of [another game in development],” Sapp said, before pointing to the massive financial commitment AEW already made.
>“I know it was a gigantic investment for Tony Khan, and even with the gigantic investment, I know there were some budget issues for the creators.”
>“They made the mistake of announcing that game super, super early. So I think that any game like that will probably be worked on more secretly and then information will drop closer to release.”
>“I have pitched within AEW like, why don't you all just reskin Fire Pro Wrestling? Or why don’t you have the people that make that [Fire Pro] do that game? That is right up AEW’s alley—like, why not do that?
