>>19778979>Repentance alone does not mean salvation!Repentance = change of mind. It is translated from the Greek: "metanoia"
>Uttering the words "I accept Jesus Christ as my savior" are empty words unless they come with action!Sort of true, but the action isn't what you think it is, because you're a workstruster.
No, words don't save you, but belief does. Or more Scripturally, we are saved by God's grace through our faith in Christ. Salvation is a GIFT and is NOT OF WORKS so that no man may boast. To paraphrase Ephesians 2:8-9. So when you believe the gospel, that is when you are born again, indwelled by the Holy Spirit. That is the "action."
As we know from John 3:16, "whosoever believes has everlasting life." I'm a whosoever. And in John 3:18 we are told that those that believe are NOT condemned. That's plain English. I'm not condemned.
You're using pilpul like the Pharisees. Cut that out. Salvation is the free gift of God, and it had to be free because we can't earn it. Because we are sinners. You too. You can't atone for your sin because you will never stop sinning.
So stop trusting in yourself and start trusting in Jesus Christ.
