>>19769271And people didn't believe me when I said that:
Unless you are Tony's boy and in with the Bucks or some other dork in like Callis in AEW, don't go there to succeed and be the main event.
Don't go there to sit in catering for the 48 months of your life especially if you are a younger talent.
Don't sign a 4 year contract with Tony, it's not going to be worth it for your career
And it's not an absolute statement, it's a exaggarated to get the point across.
There might be a dude that's just so talented and likeable they can get to the main title scenes without asskissing but it's unlikely. You are likely to be on shows, ROH, AEW, NJPW, CMLL from that AEW deal, you'll likely get to meet and have matches with lot of great old timers and learn shit.
If you got a house to pay, and Tony's giving you absurd guaranteed money for 4 years for basically nothing - I won't blame you. Hell, I'd sign a deal with Tony right now if he paid double what i get now and didn't require me to travel with them - like Fuck yeah, sign me up Tony, I'll do my darnest to write a show so good Orange Cassidy wins a fucking Emmy for the right amount.
But I'm not a wrestler, I don't have a limited time to to work. The average wrestler has something like 15-20 years tops as career, most hang their hats around ten. Imagine signing quarter of your active career to sitting in catering.
