If you understand and accept that WWE under TKO is currently in its “Disney bought Star Wars from George Lucas” era, then pretty much everything they’re doing makes perfect sense. Legacy IP titles like Star Wars IX and characters like Han Solo draw more dimes than new original ideas, even if they’re nowhere near their prime.
Every time you see Punk, Roman, Orton, HHH, and The Rock on your screen, it’s not because they “can’t tell a different story with new talent” (though, I guess it could be, lol), it’s mostly because Iron Man 3 or another Superman reboot makes more money than something new and unproven. It’s the reason they agreed to the Cena farewell tour, and the reason they’ve got HBK, Steph, and Undertaker doing TV shows and podcasts.
