>>19827046People who have seen these two in the ring recently know it won’t be a dream “match.” It’ll be a shitty slow boring match with lots of false finishes and them kicking out of GTS’s and spears several times.
What it is….is a dream “promo.” Jaded, cynical smarks aside, last night’s face to face on Raw was kino cinema. Punk and Roman are both solid on the mic and, more importantly, can dip into decades of personal history to dig up barbs and jabs that really land. Especially in this era of UnReal, when Roman starts calling him Phil and bringing up old podcasts, the crowd goes Oh Shit in ways that draw lots of dimes.
The buildup to this match will be better than anything else the WWE could’ve done for a WM Main Event this year.
The match itself will be underwhelming and forgettable. But who cares. The tickets are already bought by then.
Also, it doesn’t really matter who wins. And it certainly doesn’t matter what belt it’s for.
