Michael Cole vs Jerry Lawler is a bad match structurally, but it’s a memorable and functioning story, that still gets talked about/ wether you consider that a failure or a success is up to personal perspective, but it leaves room for thought when talking about modern WWE booking.
I don’t think Hunter is a bad booker at all, he’s very fine…and that’s the issue, he needs to throw caution to the wind at times, I understand he values stability and consistency above all else, but sometimes you need to f-ck it and turn Michael Cole Heel to do a year long storyline with an ai laptop gm that ends with stone cold stunning him at Wrestlemania in a terrible match, at least you can say you threw your art out there confidently and gave people something to talk about good or bad.
