>>4640521Stuck in development hell unironically.
2K is owned by a multibillion dollar corporation, they had 20 years worth of development at their disposal and it still took them 2.5 years to get their wrestling game to a decent "this is an acceptable game and a nice platform to build the future games on" level. Barebones GM Mode for example.
Yuke's AEW game is funded by a trust fund kid and they started their entire development from scratch, just a blank white screen staring at the ricenerds back in Japan. And they have to deal with the constant feature creep. "We need a Season Mode! And a GM Mode! And a Creation Suite! And Online Multiplayer! And they all have to be extensive! And multi-platform! More match types! More arenas! More wrestlers!"
AEW's game is either not coming out before 2024/2025 or Khan dumps even more money in that bottomless pit to get more manpower so they can get the game out sooner. But is there any sense in that because fighting games are niche, wrestling games are even more niche and wrestling games that don't have WWE branding are like niche of a niche of a niche of a niche?
