This. I've been through the system and big red flags go up when they limit the books you can do for research and tell you original thought is forbidden. The excuse given was creativity is "unknown plagiarism", so just don't think and simply quote their sources. I buried that "professor" after the semester in the anonymous student reviews and she actually was removed from that course the next semester.
