I was just playing 2K16 last night and put the Undisputed belt (Smackdown's belt) on Regal, who was already world heavyweight champion on Raw via Ultimate Submission match against Lex Luger main eventing a solid Backlash. Lord Steven Regal is in that game too, so I'm gonna team them up with together with Sheamus and Fit Finlay and Neville for a United Kingdom faction like from one of the previous games. Even gave him the ol' Power of the Punch brass knucks finisher. Gonna take world, Euro, one of the U.S. and I.C. titles during their tear.
Regal's style was old school brawler with brutal stretching, targeted strikes with fists and knees. It's very ground based and in some ways seemingly sloppy but it adds to the grit of what a brawl is supposed to look like and he had a ferocity to him and a reputation for not being a slouch. And mixed in with the pompous British ass stiff upper lip stare down his nose at you demeanor, you got a memorable character to go with a solid wrestler. Regal could do drama or comedy and always gave off that aura of superiority just by being from England. His run as the European champion was tailored for him, his tag teams with Eugene and Tajiri were stacks of dimes, he was always a shoe in for the Rebellion and Insurrection tours, his run at authority figures like for the Alliance and GM were perfect for him, and if he could have stayed clean, he would have had a solid memorable world title run, never mind the glory of the King Regal run we got robbed of. Regal was one of those "I'm not going to the concession stand or to piss or have a smoke" when he was in the ring. WIn or lose, he was exceptionally good and a joy to watch. We even got the words "Umanga" and "Haitch" from Regal.
