The tag team battle royal tonight didn't have a winner planned until the last minute, when the Bucks basically pulled rank and made themselves go over. Right now the plan is to have them beat ReDragon in the three way match to win the the belts at the upcoming pay per view, then go straight into a feud with the Briscoes so they can beat them too. This has created much anger within the company, as FTR had been promised a feud with the Briscoes and to beat them, as a sop for the fact that the Bucks have point blank refused to face FTR in a rematch or to make good on the initial pledge that they would get it's win back after losing to the Bucks. After Dynamite, there was a big confrontation with the Bucks and FTR, with FTR basically announcing "they were done" with the company and daring the Bucks/Khan to sue them for breach of contract as they walked out. Several wrestlers, among with MJF (who has become friends with FTR since they were lumped together as Pinnacle) confronting Tony Khan on allowing the Bucks to basically repeatedly screw over FTR like this. Especially since the whole idea of them fighting the Briscoes was their idea in the first place, once they realized that the Bucks had betrayed them and their promises to FTR. As it stands, the Bucks are adamant in their desire never to return the job to FTR, claiming that "FTR are beneath them" and making derogatory remarks about Dax, who has recently started to become open about his struggles with depression and body image issues. Both Bucks have derogatorily called FTR "faggots" behind their backs & consider them to be on the very bottom when it comes to importance in the AEW roster. Khan meanwhile is letting FTR walk off, hoping they'll cool off The incident, plus the Bucks's wanting to work with ReDragon solely to defeat them/cast them aside afterwards, has a lot of people upset and feeling that they'd rather have Cody back instead of the Elite, since "Cody at least could be trusted to keep his word"

At this point, they should turn Revival good guys, since there is at least a decent storyline you could get out of the Bucks being cunts and fucking the Revival over and ducking them/refusing to fight them. God knows it would at least make for a more interesting storyline than FTR being MJF's rarely seen henchmen (since Pinnacle got dropped almost as soon as it was introduced) and the Bucks are just fucking around with Cole and UE until Omega can join them in squashing UE. Also, I have to think the Briscoes are probably laughing their asses off at the dysfunctionality of AEW at this point. Why even come there if you have to deal with the Young Bucks bullshit burying every tag team the second they get over?

That said, you'd think that the Bucks would get over themselves and give the baby their bottle and job to Revival just to shut them up. It won't hurt them and God knows, it's not like they are doing anything of note or value that would require them to be protected so as to not job ever.

FTR in AEW was an interesting idea in theory, but it was clear that Tony only signed them because of the internet clamoring for them to join AEW and for good boy points for signing an internet darling. At the end of the day, they should have just kept FTR with the tag belts for a while and kept FTR far away from the Bucks. Maybe put FTR in the Codyverse since at least you could have gotten some mileage out of teasing whether or not Arn would betray Cody to rejoin Tully in managing FTR.

I'm just curious, are the Bucks even worth the bullshit being done to protect them like the are? I mean, by all accounts they are just parasites leeching onto Omega and Cody. None of them are remarkable or interesting and I doubt anyone could even tell the two apart by name they are so interchangeable. What exactly do they contribute to make Tony give a fuck about keeping them happy, outside (to steal a line from Cornette) them making Omega laugh when they puke all over themselves when they get drunk?

>>4704245 They are sort of the "lesser evil" of the original Elite (Kenny's a douchebag who thinks he's a big shot, Cody's an egomaniac with a pushy as fuck wife). They also have a huge number of friends on the indie scene, which makes them valuable for Khan to get top indie talent to sign with AEW.
FTR basically were fucked because they aren't part of the Buck's inner circle and more to the point, have their own cult following and Bucks are super jealous of that. They were like Matt Cardona, in that they never had a chance in AEW but unlike Matt, made the mistake of signing the mark contract as opposed to bailing at the first sign of bullshit and taking their chances on the indies.

>>4704238 The problem with that is that feud is purely being done because the original UE/Elite plan was crushed the moment it became apparent that Omega's not coming back anytime soon and they had to realize they couldn't drag out the Bucks treating Cole like crap and ReDragon asking Cole to pick them or the Bucks.

A lot of the problems could have been solved via just introducing a motherfucking trios belt already and explicitly telling the Bucks "we are giving the tag belts to FTR for a year, maybe more and booking them as top guys. in exchange for you STFU and not sabotaging this, you get the newly created trios belt and can pick Cole, Page, or whoever to be the third guy".

What's going to happen when Jeff signs and he and Matt refuse to do a program with the Cucks until the book is taken away? Matt's been there this whole time and I don't think he'd be lining up to put the midgets over once and never get a rematch.

The California indieshitter well was shallow and dimeless. Nobody has cared about debuts that don't involve ex-Esloppers.

Jeff shows up with Matt, and we get a bit where the Bucks confront them when Jeff debuts and Jeff puts the Bucks in their place by telling them that they are losers like Cornette says and he left the WWE to reunite with Matt for "real" competition, and then call out FTR and let FTR beat them for the first match in the feud.

>>4704292 Speaking of which, isn't the reason the Briscoes still are not signed, is due to the behind the scenes junk where the Bucks and FTR are in a hissy fit over who gets to feud with and beat the Briscoes first? And the Briscoes refusing to sign an AEW contract so long as it's openly clear that they only want to sign them to allow one of their teams to beat the brothers?

Both the Bucks and FTR are marks for themselves; the only difference is that FTR are more sympathetic given the number of times they've been screwed over. FTR really should have done whatever it took to get Cornette to come out of retirement to manage them, if only for the sake of having SOMEONE being willing to advocate for them and perhaps force/strongarm Tony to keep the Bucks from fucking over FTR for fun. At the very least, with Cornette around they'd be protected and who knows, maybe if you put Khan and Cornette in the same room as Omega and the Bucks, Cornette might actually get through to Khan and bait Omega/Bucks into admitting that they are exploiting Khan for their own ends and get them depowered/kicked out of AEW?
