The matched with Darby, Kingston and MJF were pretty good. This late part of the feud is good too. Some forgettable matches, like the one with Hobbs and others I can't bother to remember right now lower the score. Overall I'd say a 7

MJF feud has been hit and miss
The latter two had the heavy lifting done by the opponents rather than Punk. He just isn't that good.

Probably about as good as it could get. Sure the feud didn't have a ton of heat and the match wasn't amazing, but the whole thing was really exciting for what it was. I can't think of anyone who had a multi year absence and came back with it being hotter than this. Maybe Lesnar?

if the kingston feud continues punk has to turn heel, and the MJF feud wouldn't work if punk was heel so i think they're going through that to build up to a punk heel turn eventually

He could absolutely be heel again easily. Have him talk shit about Sting, Darby, hangman, kenny, Tony, hook, orange Cassidy, danhausen... It really wouldn't be hard, having him return as heel would have been impossible but after this MJF feud I'd over they could turn him at any moment.

Judging by the thread it seems that CM Punk is very love him or hate him but even those who don't like him rate him around 5-6/10. I think one reason that he's rated high at all is the very fact that he is so prominently featured at all. So far, everyone else who debuts has a short stint and then gets shoved aside. So part of it is kind of a "brainwash" where you get so used to seeing Punk that whether you're tired of him or not, you'll learn to like him, hence why even haters rate him 5/10. Or you could say he becomes....A cult of personality hurrhurr. I was sick of Hogan in WCW and wanted to see others in the main event scene. Yet when Russo took over and got rid of Hogan, it suddenly felt like no one could fill his shoes.

I think that if Adam Cole was featured every week for 6 months with mic time and constantly feud and running pretty much solo (not drown in some faction), he'd get highly rated as well no matter the quality of his feuds, mic skills etc. Same with Christian, Danielson. Heck I hate Hangman, but if he was as fetured on Dynamite as Punk would be, then he'd really feel like the face of the company and he'd probably gradually improve his mic skills as well. So CM does take up alot of time slots that others might've needed to develop and become the future of the company. However, it's obvious that Tony wants to get his money worth out of Punk since he must've been very very very expensive, unlike the other debuts.

His initial match with Darby was a bit too short and should've been longer. Afterwards he kept showing up all the time which sucked, but he had some pretty good matches with Hobbs, Bobby Fish and Lee Moriarty. Then the Kingston feud came which was really good and Kingston mogged him on the mic which was great and although their match was brief it was great. This MJF buildup was actually trash for a good amount of it desu, AEW has a weird issue where they either do a very short out of nowhere buildup or being way too fucking long, either way, I don't like Punk but he's had good matches in AEW but needs to stop showing up every week.
