Almost all their talent got released at the end of the year. Tony doesn't need or want their office staff, he's going to want his own people there especially since he's named himself the new booker.

before it was announced that tony bought roh, everyone's contract had expired. tony using the production team that he wants is the right choice. same with the roster. roh will be a develpmental for aew so a lot of aew peopole will obviously be part of it. they can of course sign some people just to roh and then bring them over to aew. hopefully they get new belts and logo

It's not an uncommon practice by any means, especially considering TK was only gunning for intellectual rights. However, It's still major layoffs, and considering those people were the ones that did ROH day-to-day operations, it's not gonna be as ROH as WWE ECW was to the real ECW. So Tony basically sucked the soul of ROH for it's name, like WWE did to ECW and WCW and told everyone who depended on it/made it what it was besides the wrestlers to fuck off

Sounds like Tony jumped on the deal to not lose the chance and now they're working out the details. Deal is already closed but the initial paperwork probably left some things open-ended. Tony owns everything but now has to decide what to do. As for contracts for talent, RoH had almost none at the time of closing.

Wwe made nxt instead and then just stole all rohs talent at every opportunity and then put them in nxt.
You now have roh out of business DESPERATE to make some deal with aew to get essentially what wwe offered them about 8 years ago.

If roh took wwes deal to begin with then they would still be on tv and not bankrupt like what they are now

It was dead mostly because of AEW in the first place when Cody and the Bucks worked ROH into making them the main focus to hype up their own ppv (which ROH helped a lot with production) then they ditched them as soon as they found Tony to fund their own company, on top of signing all the new indie talent which prevents ROH and other places from building up and maintaining their own rosters. Buying the name and firing everyone is just Tony going back to put an extra bullet in the corpse to make sure it's dead.
