In terms of wrestling, it gets used a lot because the "stuffy rich brit" cliche works great if you are a heel.
Also on a side note, Chris Adams got super fucking far in wrestling and life trading off of his british accent in the south to present the illusion of him being a classy rich brit type "gentleman" when everyone who had any contact with him long term quickly realized Adams was a low life drug addict/sex fiend who only pretended to be "classy" to get laid.
