Kenny and Don made it FEEL like a championship. Hangman has no presence. I don't care about him. His promos are arguably the worst in the ENTIRE company. The only reason he was the title is to jerk off the fucking indie muh RoH muh NJPW long term story telling marks, when almost over half of the viewers don't know what the fuck any of the history is.
Hangman doesn't look or feel or sound like a champion. Kenny had the most presence out of anyone with a title.
Unironically in recent memory, only Kenny and Roman look and feel like champions. I want Kenny back.. I want Callis back..

I think that's broadly a problem with AEW in general but especially so with Hangman due to his lack of charisma and presence. The company should be built around its champion and the weekly shows should in some way or another revolve around them. Think about attitude era raw shows that would have the champ in the opening and closing segments, and they would often appear backstage too throughout. Or in the modern era NJPW makes their top champion seem like a big deal and positions them as the start of the company. Whereas Hangman feels like he has a midcard belt.

This is the #1 thing missing right now. The stories should also throw baits, cliffhangers, sequel hooks to make you want to tune in next week. More swerves and more characterizations. I'm tired of all the Dante Martins and Daniel Garcias in the low and midcards. I want an Al Snow running around with a head or a Road Dogg with a simple catchphrase that makes the crowd wake up. Wrestling in general is so fucking dull, a soulless husk
