I wish they hadn't tried so hard to humanise him. The stuff about MJF was fine but I could've done without the "boo hoo my family is poor" routine. For now he should just be a guy who kills people to make money and he wants rid of MJF because he's being held back. Humanise the guy later.

He wasn't awful, but I really wonder if people are going to stay on his side now that he's confirmed he's not doing an angle with Maxwell. A lot of times the underdog is over more because they want to cheer for someone going against the Heel than they actually like him.

No, he didn't. He asked Max nicely to release him from his contract and stay out of his way. Obviously MJF isn't going to do either of those things, he's obviously going to cost Wardlow the TNT Championship.

People always love a big guy who just goes out there and fucks people up with power moves. He doesn't need to have a grimdark tragic backstory that motivates him, that's shitty modern Hollywood writing. Wardlow should kill people and when the time comes to add another layer to his character then do it.

Not the most interesting promo, but I was really impressed by it. He didn't stumble over his words, didn't get lost in the headlights, and didn't rush it or sound like he wished he wasn't speaking. If this is his base level, his ceiling may be even higher than I originally thought.
