I beat Liurnia and just did the boss at Siofra. Now I have to start Caelid and I’m losing all motivation to keep playing. I guess it’s for the best, it was getting to be a real time sink

Glad I’m not the only one. I’m at 40 hours and have just lost all motivation to keep playing.
Also the enemies fucking suck. This is the first FromSoft game where they reuse enemies in higher level areas and they make the enemies stronger than they were at the start of the game. Fucking lazy bullshit.

Gameplay is the same but it’s open world. The world isn’t empty at all, but it’s filled with copy pasted dungeons, ruins and enemies. The levels aren’t as carefully crafted as in DS3. It’s still a good game if you like the series, but it’s exhausting after awhile.

Around 40 hours in and can’t really be bothered anymore.
Weird because I easily put 100s of hours into BOTW, Skyrim and even shit like GTA V and RDR2 but I just can’t be arsed with Elden Ring anymore. I think it’s going to be a very polarising game once the hype settles down.

I’m really wondering how many of the critics who gave this game a perfect score actually finished the game. I’d consider myself a pretty big FromSoft fan and there’s no fucking way Elden Ring is better than Dark Souls or Bloodborne. Probably not even better than Dark Souls 3.
I’m guessing they made it to Godric and did all the optional stuff in the first few areas and then posted their review.
It’s just not a 10/10 game imo.

They didn't.

At this stage considering games like The Last of Us 2, Deathloop etc are getting 9s and 10s it's pointless listening to gaming (((journalists))) anymore.
So long as the game fits their globohomo quotas and their review impresses their boss that's all that matters.

huh? that's what they did with dungeons in bloodborne. I found the well areas much more interesting and less repetitive than them too. It just never seems to end. 144 hours in now

Nah the levels are much more unique than DS3. It reminds me much more of Demon Souls + a better DS2 than anything.

I'm almost done with Liurnia and I feel the same. I noticed myself just riding my horse through every region just taking the items and running away from enemies cause most of them are really fucking annoying and don't even give you any runes
