Agreed, If you want less interference and more matchmaking, just say that. No need for an "authority figure", just stop the gay ass low blows, brass knucks, leg trips, belt shot to the face, and this other trash.

If you're going to commit to having 99.9% of matches not end with a DQ, don't give a DQ-quality finish. At least throw some fucking count-outs in for fucks sake. Sunday would have been PRIME for a Dusty Finish in the Rosa/Britt match (knock out 1st ref, 2nd comes in, double pin/count, restart match, THEN Britt hits her with the belt) and we couldn't even get that.

Without a strong figure to establish that a heel is being a heel fucking the promotion over and fucking the audience over, you can't really establish gimmick matches. Every single time there's a gimmick match, it's some personal drama feud just like the tv show Lost.
A strong authority figure always featured in the territories, NWA type authorities or someone like Bill Watts himself fulfilled that role.
Tony Khan is absolutely unsuited for the role, but William Regal is suitable.

It was a masterclass promo. I don't give a shit if he went over the alloted time. Mox, Danielson and Regal are the most over guys in AEW (along with Jericho) and they should have the most time for this reason by default. Cut the women's segments. They're always bad.

I didn't mind that. Plenty ways to spin that into various angles further down the line and I chuckled that Regal obviously favors Danielson and talked up a storm about him and then went, "oh and here's Jon." It makes sense too. I thought it was perfect. Didn't even notice something went wrong before checking twitter the day after.

Honestly I swear to god just shut the fuck up about these things when they happen. Nobody cares.
