Which is also why they're for some reason closely allied with the Catholics in some states, even though from Old Testament right through everything else the Catholics are further from the Jewish faith than other Christians (though not as far as the Orthodox, which are not as far as the Ethiopians.
Basically, the Ethiopians have made up the most extra shit (aside from the Jews themselves, maybe) so they're distanced the furthest.
The Protestants stripped away the random shit the Catholics added onto the two testaments, so Protestant-derived versions of the Old Testament canon are virtually identical to the Tanach (the Old Testament canon of the Jews, the Torah being just the first five well-known books), just with the books in different orders or split up/combined differently.
Then the Jews have the Zohar and other shit for mysticism and Biblical commentary, the Christians have the New Testament, the Catholics have extra fairly nonsensically placed bullshit put in both testaments as if it belonged there when most of it was written later, the "even more truly canonically original" Orthodox are same thing but worse, and the Ethiopian Bible is like the Orthodox Bible but with a few extras swapped out (including one that's the same name, corrupted, but a completely different book), and a few extras even beyond the others.
Basically, even though Evangelicals/Protestants are the ones always called idolaters and faithless and derivative and so on, they have the least bullshit tacked on by theme or by word count of any of the major groups, including the Jews.
