There was no time to pull the trigger on him because he's not a main event level talent. He's been pushed hard because they've wanted desperately to establish their own star rather than appear to require guys who got popular elsewhere to carry the main event, but while that's a good thing to strive for, he's not it.

He's the weakest champ they've had. Danielson, Punk or even Christian would make better champs than him. If you really wanted someone built up in AEW, then the guy to go with is MJF. He can at least be a convincing main event level heel.

They should have focused on building Darby, MJF, Sammy, etc... and continuously tried to make them real stars but instead they fucked around with them for long durations of time while they tried to make Page champ like 4 different times.

This is the first im hearing about this. I saw a lot of threads complaining about him not being used immediately and no one mentioned him going on paternity but kyle also came back sooner than hangman so hangman still looks bad

Until it was just won by Scorpio the TNT title held by fucking Sammy was carrying the show.
If anything Scorpio winning it in THE MAIN EVENT THE SAME NIGHT THERE WAS A WORLD TITLE MATCH EARLIER is proof of that.
Hangman is no ace no matter how much Tony wants him to be. His matches are good, no argument there, but he just isn't cut out to be the face representing the brand.
