Some think that in these days all wrestlers did was just armbar and par terre the ground all night. It was way more. Those guys could do anything today's flipshitters can do athletically, they just didn't show off like that. Back in these days you had dozens of setups and you practiced them until it was second nature.

Have you even watched a single pro-wrestling match from the 50s or 60s? They had tons of finishes off of basic slams, but it was usually AFTER lots of hard fought wrestling. And they did sell, but it wasn't the cartoonish selling of modern wrestling or the 'laying around the ring for minutes at a time pretending to be nearly dead' selling either.
