Verdict? Is there any reason to get this if you have 2K19?

Theres no point in buying sports games more than once every five years and thats a shoot. I have draft classes in madden 20 thatll keep me with up to date players through the 2027 season. You'd think, nobody could possibly be a big enough geek to go through espns top 300 sophomores and make them all character for madden, but they do. If i was an aew fan I'd honestly buy 2k22 and use custom files made courtesy of GEEKS and not buy an aew game til the ps6 came out, probably take til then to have sequels and all the kinks ironed out

Whatever dude, not every wrestling game is just the same thing every year, that's not how it used to be. JBI, SYM, HCTP and SVR06 are each unique experiences worth playing and they came out in a less than five year span.

I’m enjoying the hell out of it. It’s a massive improvement over 2k20. I like the new combat mechanics a lot, and the updated models look really good. New mocap tech came out looking great, too.
Definitely worth playing.

2K19 has the better overall roster because it was pre-AEW, you have more legends, new guys, alt versions and the gameplay is better for realistic simulation. You would need to mod on PC if you want additional wrestlers.

2k22 is a bit more fun to play in an arcadey way but think some moves and transitions are more difficult to pull off. It does give you a lot of modes to play in so it doesn't get boring. Much better graphics.

I compare it like 19 is SVR 06 and 22 is DOR2.

Literally worse than 2k20 dont buy this horseshit.

The game isn't perfect but it is pretty and it's fun. I've not messed with career mode yet, just showcase and random exhibition matches.

My only issues and these are just personal preference is there doesn't appear to be a stamina system. It's just 100mph the entire match, which some people do enjoy. I personally prefer having to implement some strategy and not rush things and choose when to use my reversals. It very much feels like you're playing a mid-2000s wrestling game.

I haven't bought a wrestling game since WWE 2K17 but I'm really enjoying this one. The gameplay feels more arcadey which is a huge improvement. The lean towards realism and simulation ruined the series.

The stamina system only affects running and pretty much never depletes in a real match. Only if you run in a circle for over 5 seconds.

Would CAWs of wrestlers from other promotions, arenas and an online match or two make the game $60 worth of entertainment for you? Then buy it.
I don't think there's ever been a very good way to download CAWs etc online for the pirated versions so that's the main draw of actually owning it since some of the people can make ridiculously good recreations with the system and save you 5 hours per wrestler in the creator.
If that wouldn't improve your enjoyment all that much it isn't worth it.

'22 is much more geared towards entertaining the player than providing a faithful recreation of the product. Recovery times seem very quick, moves aren't very impactful, and the whole thing just looks very button-mashy. If you liked the old SmackDown games, '22 looks very close.

It requires at least a GTX 1060 which is up from a GTX 960 from 2K20. if you have a 1050 or better you will be fine for 60FPS at mixed settings.

Game ran and performed well for me until I tried to start a universe mode, now it just crashes to desktop constantly. Try to select a CAW? Crash. Try to select the "Shows" category at all for any reason and it instantly crashes as well.

It's the same old shit honestly. Pirate it if you want it, it isn't worth buying.

They're not. The controls are exactly the same but they just added a combo system on top of them, more or less, and changed a couple of the button tap mini-games for submissions and kicking out etc. But the controls feel slick as goose shit, just janky as fuck and sliding all over the place.

The combat system is trying to be Here Comes the Pain but it's just so NOT TIGHT is the best way I can put it

the requirements are higher yeah. on pc if you aren't getting 60fps it'll run in slow motion since it's tied to the framerate. You basically want a 1060 to get base console performance
