Meltzer astroturfing for them is really only helping them a bit but it can't be understated how much Stardom overrates their popularity to conflate being the best in Japan
There are companies much smaller that do better natural wrestling but they don't have companies with capital to burn to astroturf
If Stardom was a music genre they would be k-pop, entirely manufactured and almost unrecognizable from their peers
