When they decided to bury the entire roster to make Brock, Goldberg, or Roman Reigns look strong

Cody left around 2015-2016ish and was hiding behind the Stardust persona at the time. Cody is pretty much the last WWE made star left who hasn't been buried either explicitly or implicitly by the booking of the above mentioned three while also having his star power rise in that time. He's untouched by the bullshit of the last 6-7 years and E-Drones want him because they unironically have fuck all left.
