I fucking hated this dude as a kid. Which of course makes me look back now and realize how god damn good he was. Nobody today compares. No one gets real heat. Edge was also a fantastic heel in this way.

Corbin? Sure, you could make a case for him easy as you like. Jinder actively tanked both ratings AND live attendance for Smackdown. He was supposed to corner the pajeet market but couldn't even do that. Fucks sake they had to put the title on AJ early because not even the droniest of drones wanted to see him vs Brock.

AEW heels are too generic and WWE heels are usually either too silly or are too respected to be hated. Miz, Dolph, Roman, Seth, Edge, Sheamus won't get true heel reactions because people like them too much same with Jericho, MJF and Black. At this point, the best chances for a JBL like heel are Joe Gacy and Grayson Waller, Apollo had a good chance and was the most topical but they didn't go far enough with it and he ended up a jobber again.

People hated JBL because he was a mediocre wrestler and his title reign went on too long. Triple H held the world title too long but his angles/matches were fun for the most part. Smackdown was hard to watch.
