From the perspective of the wrestling company, yes they want you to job on your way out, which is why they get you to do it before your contract is up. They do not keep you after your contract and give you a title you contractually do not have to ever give back and could potentially take to another company. From Cody's perspective he has no reason to put someone over, that's not in his best interest at all if he's going to another company, and nobody in the history of wrestling would tell you to volunteer to job for a company that is supposedly letting you go or firing you. It's just delusional to even suggest this is what happened. The only case where a wrestler would say to put someone over on your way out is if you are retiring, not if you're getting fucking fired.
