Games need that for confirmation that you connected with the opponent so you know what's going on and also 'feel' the impact but this clip overdoes it because the animations weren't finished and whoever did it doesn't understand that a wrestling game uses moves which are locked in the middle of animations, and you can't input anything during many moves as the animation is locked until the aftermath of the move is completed so the hit confirmation isn't needed and you know the move hit because you saw the animation complete. In Devil May Cry or Bayonetta or Street Fighter it is essential for strikes in the middle of potential combos or to dodge counterattacks etc.... but not here.

They shouldn't have focused on graphics in the first place. They should have made it wwf attitude level graphics, and then focused on adding a crazy deep creation suite, push the game out with only 8 wrestlers and let the community to the rest. Have a massive backstage area, a massive Universe type mode that never ends, and created a control system that is easy to use, but hard to master. Simple

You don't need much, you can release a barebones games and have free updates mixed with premium paid ones and community shit and be fine.
