I have been trying to think of more ideas for the anime. For those who missed it the basic idea is.

>dark anime set in neo Tokyo 10 years after the death of Solid Snake
>Sunny is the main character
>she is an edgy emo teenager and hacker
>since war has stopped after the patriots were destroyed the world has fallen into a nihlistic capitalist dystopia rather than a utopia
>youth culture is very nihlistic and there is a sub culture of alternative/emo type hackers who likes to smoke cigarettes and be emo
>they get 'high' somehow by hooking themselves up to machines
>there is a faction of hackers who are trying to rearm the world and bring back war because they are tired of being nihlistic
>Sunny has to try to stop them to preserve Snake's legacy
>Otacon is still trying to be a helicopter parent but Sunny is trying to be an edgy teenager and get away from him, sometimes she needs his help though
>Raiden's son is kind of friends with Sunny but he is the opposite to her, he is more optimistic and fun/a bit goofy
>he isn't in the hacker culture he is more of a jock and his speciality is melee combat so often he has to help Sunny when violence is needed
>Sunny pretends not to like him but really she has a crush on him
>Raiden himself appears sometimes to help Sunny and his son out if they are in big trouble
>Meryl and Johnny also have a son who can appear sometimes
>Chico is still alive this whole time and is some sort of cyborg who first appears as a villain but becomes a mysterious anti-hero type figure
>we don't find out it is Chico right away though, he could maybe be the villian in season 2 after with season 1 being about the hackers who want to restart war

This is all of my ideas so far, what do you guys think?

I feel like having any characters from the Big Boss games would be weird imo
The setting and set-up are great, but the thing with Metal Gear is you gotta have a key theme (other than just war = bad) to build it from. If you could really build on something there, then this is pretty decent.

Thanks. I understand what you are saying with Big Boss era characters there are two reasons I wanted to put Chico in. First of I wanted to have enough of a sprinkling of characters from the MGS games to make sure the anime does feel like a proper cotinuation. It is a struggle to think of characters to use that would make sense. Secondly, Chico is never fully fleshed out, he is only 13 when he dies in the games. So you can basically do whatever you like with him. He would be in his late 50s by the time of the anime so you would have plenty of space to fill your own backstory. Making him an anti-hero might be a bad idea though. What might be a better idea would be to have him one of the very top villians, he blames Big Boss for being capture and tortured and thinks Big Boss left him for dead to become a mutilated cyborg man (kind of links in with Grey Fox). Somehow this makes him want to return the world to war because he associates what Solid Snake did in ending war with Big Boss or something.Or maybe he just hates Sunny because of her association with Snake. I need to figure it out.
