That and because WWE's the next promotion that fuels his mansion and Brandi's bitch needs.
I understand joining WWE for money as well as leaving AEW due to frustration. However in Cody's case, he left because he didn't accept the reality that he's not a good booker. If he still has that power, I guarantee you that he'll be staying in AEW even if his salary got reduced.
The only thing to question now is how long will he stay there and if he leaves, will he crawl back to AEW? ROH's AEWs property now and I don't think Impact as well as NJPW is interested and/or can afford his needs. He has no one to blame but himself if he'll get another stardust scenario.
