pay attention to the show Marufuji got pinned by Daiki last week, Ogawa & Nosawa have been putting over Yano & Yano just had a stand out match with Marufuji, all the junior belts are being held by young guys, and all of Fujitas most interesting challengers are young guys.
Inamura, Shiozaki, Kenoh, Nakajima, & Masa.
They gave the belt to Fujita because he cares about Noah & wants to help however he can either by training the rookies or working the main event with all the energy he has left in him

Having the old legends come in and win is typical Japanese storytelling. They have a different culture than we do. NOAH does have way too many old people, and their young guys all have adopted completely dated aesthetics from the turn of the fucking century. That's a huge problem. There are like 5 guys under the age of 50 in NOAH that are of any real value.

Marufuji always does the job, it means nothing at this point. And don't lump in Shiozaki with the others, he's 40 and debuted almost 20 years ago, he is one of the old guys, and they sure are dedicating a lot of time and effort into him lately. And Inamura hasn't done anything, he's being wasted.
